E a grande vencedora foi Lauryn Hill, com o álbum "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill", de 1998, que conquistou o primeiro lugar e ultrapassou nomes como Beyoncé, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Prince, Stevie Wonder, Kendrick Lamar, Amy Winehouse, Frank Ocean ou Nirvana.
“Este é o meu prémio, mas é uma narrativa rica e profunda e envolve tantas pessoas, muito sacrifício, muito tempo e muito amor coletivo”, afirmou Hill, citada pela Associated Press.
