Presidente do PSD
Licenciado em direito pela Universidade Católica Portuguesa, tem uma pós-graduação em Direito de Proteção de Dados Pessoais e um Programa Avançado em Gestão pelo INSEAD. Advogado de profissão, fundou o escritório de advocacia SP&M, do qual foi sócio até julho de 2022.
Exerceu ainda o cargo de presidente da Assembleia-Geral do Grupo Ferpinta e da Rádio Popular.
Tendo escolhido Espinho como o local da sua residência de família, foi membro das principais instituições da cidade: Assembleia Municipal, da qual foi Presidente, e Câmara Municipal, onde foi vereador. Em 2002, numa eleição que deu a vitória ao PSD, tornou-se deputado à Assembleia da República. Foi eleito noutras quatro eleições legislativas (2005, 2009, 2011 e 2015), ocupando o cargo de deputado ao longo de 16 anos, tendo sido presidente da bancada parlamentar entre 2011 e 2017.
A 28 de maio de 2022 vence as eleições diretas do PSD com 72,48% dos votos. Assume a liderança do PSD no 40.º Congresso Nacional com o lema “Acreditar”.

He has a law degree from Universidade Católica Portuguesa, a post-graduate degree in Personal Data Protection Law and an Advanced Management Program from INSEAD. By profession a lawyer, he founded the law firm SP&M, of which he was a partner until July 2022. He was also Chairman of the General Meeting of the Ferpinta Group and Rádio Popular.
Having chosen Espinho as his family home, he was a member of the city’s main institutions: the Municipal Assembly, of which he was President, and the City Council, where he was a councilman. In 2002, in an election won by PSD, he became a member of the Portuguese Parliament. He was elected in four other legislative elections (2005, 2009, 2011 and 2015), serving as a member of parliament for 16 years, and was president of the parliamentary group between 2011 and 2017.
On May 28, 2022, he won PSD’s direct elections with 72.48% of the votes. He assumes the leadership of PSD at the 40th National Congress with the motto “Believe”
