A atriz brasileira Fernanda Torres está nomeada para o Globo de Ouro de melhor atriz num filme dramático pela sua interpreação em "Ainda Estou Aqui", de Walter Salles, que é também um dos nomeados para melhor filme em língua não inglesa. Fernanda Torres compete nesta categoria com nomes como Tilda Swinton, Pamela Anderson, Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman e Kate Winslet.

O musical "Emilia Pérez", sobre um traficante mexicano que muda de género, com realização de Jacques Audiard, lidera as nomeações gerais com 10, incluindo uma para a protagonista Karla Sofía Gascón e duas para Selena Gomez e Zoë Saldaña como atrizes secundárias.

Seguem-se "The Brutalist" com sete nomeações (uma delas para o ator Adrien Brody) , "Conclave" com seis nomeações (uma delas para Ralph Fiennes), "Anora" (com Mikey Madison) e "A Substância" (com Demi Moore) com cinco.

Cynthia Erivo e Ariana Grande, do filme "Wicked", também estão nomeadas: a britânica Erivo está nomeada para melhor atriz de comédia ou musical pelo seu papel de Elphaba, enquanto a co-estrela Grande está nomeada para melhor atriz secundária.

Nas séries, "The Bear", a grande vencedora da última edição, teve novamente cinco nomeações. "Abbott Elementary", "Shōgun", "Baby Reindeer" e "Disclaimer" estão entre os nomeados na área da televisão.

A cerimónia dos Globos de Ouro de 2025, apresentada por Nikki Glaser, está marcada para a noite de domingo, de 5 para 6 de janeiro. A atriz Viola Davis e o ator Ted Danson serão homenageados com o Prémio Cecil B. DeMille e o Prémio Carol Burnett, respetivamente.
