Steven Sheldon é Professor Associado na Escola de Educação da Universidade Johns Hopkins e Co-Diretor do Centro para a Organização Social das Escolas e do Centro de Parcerias entre Escolas, Famílias e Comunidades. Possui mais de 20 anos de experiência na realização de pesquisas e avaliações sobre o envolvimento familiar na educação das crianças. Steven Sheldon is an Associate Professor at the Johns Hopkins University School of Education and Co-Director of the Center for the Social Organization of Schools and the Center on School, Family, and Community Partnerships. He has over 20 years of experience conducting research into, and evaluations of, family engagement in children’s education. His recent work focuses on the impact of school and teacher outreach to families, such as home visits, on students and families. Additionally, he has published studies about how school leadership facilitates the development of school, family, and community partnership programs; the role of evaluation for strengthening family and community engagement; and the implementation and impact of community school approaches to education. Dr. Sheldon is the author of numerous reports and peer-reviewed articles. He has co-authored several books including The Wiley Handbook on Family, School, and Community Relationships in Education (Sheldon & Turner-Vorbeck, March 2019), Principals Matter: A Guide to School, Family, and Community Partnerships (Sanders & Sheldon, 2009), and School, Family, and Community Partnerships: Your Handbook for Action (Epstein, et al., 2012). Most recently he co-authored, with Joyce Epstein, the third addition of, School, Family, and Community Partnerships: Preparing Educators and Improving Schools.
