Professora de Estudos de Discurso Internacional e Literacia, Cultura e Ciências da Aprendizagem na Universidade do Texas em San Antonio, a Dra. Rosalind Horowitz é professora em Aprendizagem e Ensino Interdisciplinar e Psicologia Educacional. Tem um doutoramento pela Universidade de Minnesota, Twin Cities, com trabalhos de pós-graduação na Universidade de Harvard e na Universidade Hebraica de Jerusalém. Desempenhou várias funções de liderança na American Educational Research Association (AERA). Foi eleita para servir como Presidente do Programa do Grupo de Interesse Especial (SIG) em Pesquisa em Leitura e Literacia, tendo inaugurado o Consórcio Internacional para a Literacia Mundial deste SIG, para estudar as literacias transnacionais e globais, a mobilidade e as mudanças nas sociedades.
Rosalind Horowitz publicou pesquisas sobre processos de discurso, conversas em torno e em textos escritos, evolução da escrita, conflitos linguísticos, e trabalhos comparativos internacionais na fronteira entre os EUA e o México e em Beer-sheba, no Negev, Israel, perto da Faixa de Gaza. A Dra. Rosalind Horowitz publicou três volumes, abrangendo a linguagem oral e escrita, Talking Texts e The Achievement Gap in Reading. A sua pesquisa foi apresentada internacionalmente - na Holanda, Austrália, França, Israel, Bélgica, Argentina, México e Canadá.

Professor of International Discourse and Literacy Studies, Culture, and Learning Sciences at The University of Texas at San Antonio Dr Rosalind Horowitz is a professor in Interdisciplinary Learning and Teaching, and Educational Psychology. Ph.D. from The University of Minnesota, Twin Cities with Graduate Work at Harvard University and the Hebrew University, Jerusalem. Served in a variety of leadership roles in the American Educational Research Association (AERA). Elected to serve as Program Chair of the Special Interest Group (SIG) on Research in Reading and Literacy, inaugurated this SIG's International Consortium for World Literacy to study trans-national and global literacies, mobility and changes in societies. Has published research on discourse processes, talk around and in written texts, evolution of writing, language conflicts, international comparative work on the U.S. Mexico Border and and in Beer-sheba, the Negev, Israel near Gaza. Dr Rosalind Horowitz has published three volumes, comprehending oral and written language, Talking Texts, The Achievement Gap in Reading. Research has been presented internationally - in The Netherlands, Australia, France, Israel, Belgium, Argentina, Mexico, and Canada.
